Our Story

Welcome to The Northern Bunch! I’m Mollie, a passionate studio-based florist specialising in contemporary and alternative weddings and events based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

My journey began at the age of 16 when I took a Saturday job at a well-known florist in my hometown of Bradford. I spent my weekends sweeping floors, making tea for clients and helping on deliveries, quickly becoming enamoured with the vibrant energy of a bustling flower shop.
Over the next few years, I immersed myself in Art, Design and Photography studying at Leeds Arts University and going onto to start my degree in Contemporary Design Crafts at Hereford College of Arts. However, I had to pause my studies midway through due to the pandemic, leaving me feeling adrift in my early twenties. In a moment of spontaneity, I enrolled myself and my mum in a 10-week Level 1 Floristry course at Shipley College for her 50th birthday… and I fell in love with floristry once more.

After completing my course and relocating to North Yorkshire, I began volunteering at a local florist in Ripon. This experience opened the door to three magical years of freelancing for various florists while juggling a part-time job. I got to work on numerous weddings at amazing venues such as: Grantley Hall, Hazelwood Castle and Ripley Castle. During this period, I proudly earned a Distinction in my Level 2 Certificate in Floristry at Askham Bryan College. This accomplishment filled me with pride, as it marked the moment I discovered my true passion- something I had been searching for throughout my entire life.
Now, after several years in the floral industry, I am excited to embark on this new adventure independently. Having moved back to West Yorkshire, I am eager to showcase my creations. If you’re in search for wild, organic and playful blooms, you’ve found the right place!
Welcome to The Northern Bunch.
